ABOUT GREG.
My artistic journey began with an on-line course on Drawing and Colour Theory by the late Myron Barnstone. He was an American who I related to immediately and his very structured lessons, which he had been teaching for over 33 years, were a pleasure for me to undertake.
His concept of colour theory was of particular fascination and I have attempted to adhere to his theories in all of my works to date. I use a glass pallet and a colour wheel, which assists me to implement his colour mixing principles.
My next training then began when I then became a student under Elizabeth Green in Kenthurst. I have undertaken 16 terms of study of either Drawing or Painting.
My preference to date has been for either the use of ink for drawing, with a pipette a tool that I have found of great value, or the use of oils for my painting works.
Working on canvas or boards, I prime with Gesso, together with acrylic colours to complete my under paintings. I mostly use brushes and pallet knives, but I am always looking for anything that will make an exciting mark.
My first sales of art works came in 2022 and the prospect of my first solo exhibition is an exciting chapter in my enjoyment of my artistic endeavours.
